i remember spending a summer in southern cal when i was a kid. The thing that struck me the most was the green....the thing that struck my family was seeing me brown

no, NOT green in summer. Huntington Beach. One day in July, my uncle banged on my door early in the morning to come and look at the rain. I thought he was nuts. I've seen plenty of rain in july

I gave a ride to a hitchhiking couple from Germany once, on my way down to LA -- they were thoroughly amazed that we had thunderstorms in November.
